Thanks to all our members who travelled far and wide to attend our 91st Festival Day.
A great day was had by all who attended. We met up with friends old and new in Chapter House where we were welcomed by the Very Revd Dr Philip Plyming, Dean of Durham, who presented the future plans of Durham Cathedral. Our Chairman Caroline Peacock, Hon Secretary Christine Lightfoot and Hon Treasurer Andrew French, updated us on what's been happening with the Friends over the last year.
After a delicious lunch in Prior's Hall our members were treated to a wonderful organ recital by Sub-Organist Joseph Beech, then partook in various tours around Durham Cathedral by our expert guides.
The day culminated in a special Evensong and we gathered outside on Palace Green to listen to the Durham Cathedral Choir sing from the top of the tower!
